Sharing local cultural heritage online with LoCloud services - A LoCloud Conference

The Digital Curation Unit, in the context of its involvement in the LoCloud project, participated in the Conference “Sharing local cultural heritage online with LoCloud services” which was held in Amersfoort, Netherlands in February 2016. The conference provided an opportunity to share, discuss and demonstrate tools, services and content in the context of Europeana and gave an opportunity to the participants to reflect on the results achieved by LoCloud and to look upon the future.

The agenda of the conference included comprehensive presentations from LoCloud partners from Serbia, Ireland, Italy, Turkey, France, Romania, Norway, Spain and the UK, as well as presentations related to the new EC programmes about cultural heritage, LoCloud collections and the LoCloud Historical Place Names micro-service. Our own Dimitris Gavrilis presented MORe and the LoCloud enrichment services, while at the end of the day the recent LoCloud “My local heritage” competition was showcased.
