Eleni Afiontzi

Since May 2013 I participate in research projects as member of the Digital Curation Unit. I graduated in 2010 from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki) and in February 2013 I completed my postgraduate studies in Information Systems (Athens University of Economics). My Master’s thesis entitled “Assessment of semantic markup tools” pushed me to get further involved with Semantic Web and the metadata of digital objects.

At the time being, I have undertaken activities in the DCU that involve developing parts of repositories and information systems with very large data volumes and high availability requirements within European research projects.
