workflow_videosThe Digital Curation Unit is pleased to share two new videos developed in the context of the ATRIUM: Advancing Frontier Research in the Arts and Humanities project.

The first video, “Why Workflows Matter,” offers an introduction to the role of workflows in digital humanities. Featuring colleagues from the ATRIUM project, it explains why workflows are essential for guiding researchers through different stages of the research process and for supporting the meaningful integration of digital methods, tools, and services into scholarly practice.

The second video, “Collaborative Map Annotation,” presents a workflow that supports the collaborative annotation of historical maps, contributing to the transformation of complex cartographic material into reusable research data and enriched metadata. It highlights the importance of structured annotation for improving documentation, interoperability, and the research potential of historical map collections.

Within ATRIUM, workflows are developed as practical, step-by-step guides that help researchers navigate specific research scenarios and make effective use of digital research infrastructures. This approach is central to the project’s broader aim of facilitating access to digital methods and advancing research across the arts and humanities.
