Since January 2013 I am part of the team of the Digital Curation Unit of the Research Center “Athena”, initially as a scholar through the European Mobility Program Leonardo da Vinci and recently as a scientific associate. My educational background includes undergraduate studies in the Department of History and Archaeology of the University of Cyprus, where I come from, with a specialization in History during the years 2007 to 2011 and postgraduate studies in Trinity College Dublin in the program “Public History and Cultural Heritage” in 2011-2012. From January to May 2012 I completed an internship in the Dublin City Library and Archive aiming to collect archival material and present it in a database in order to improve the research conditions of the users of the Archive, a fact that initiated me to the world of Digital Humanities.

My current research interests in the Digital Curation Unit deal with finding, collecting and understanding digital research practices for the Humanities as part of the project Europeana Cloud. In the context of the Greek Research Infrastructure Network for the Humanities (DARIAH-GR) and its European counterpart DARIAH-EU I have engaged in activities aiming to document user requirements of the research community as well as in the creation, promotion and enhancement of the researchers’ network. I have also participated in conducting quantitative research for the purposes of the research project BioASQ (Large-scale of biomedical semantic indexing and question answering) and in modeling the research activity for the project NeDiMAH (Network for the Digital Methods in the Arts and Humanities).
